Dear Family & Friends,
Our team of 22 from Australia, Canada and the U.S. returned the week before Thanksgiving with lots of great memories and new friendships forged from our 12 days in Peru. We so enjoyed having Jerame and Miranda Nelson with us who did several crusade nights, including Miranda’s first with Kathy translating. A smaller group of us (7) stayed another 3 days to make the trip to Machu Picchu, the amazing Inca ruin village high in the Andes Mountains.
We started with a medical outreach in Pachacutec, an impoverished area outside the bustling congested city of Lima, where volunteer doctors, nurses and dentists attended to the mothers and children lined up outside the 3 shacks that were used as exam rooms. We had partnered with the local pastor and Lion’s Club who helped organize the event, brought medicines to give out and we provided food and helped feed them a hot meal. Our team members prayed with the moms, played with the children, painted their nails, passed out food and we shared the gospel on the makeshift platform after the Christian clown and Minnie Mouse attracted the children to come see what was happening. What a joy it was to share a tangible expression of Jesus’ love with these poor families.
Some of the highlights of the trip were—
- A young man with metal plate in his leg that dissolved as he jumped up and down, bent his leg and could feel the metal disappear!
- A 4-yr old boy with cerebral palsy walked across the stage for first time as his mom broke down in tears!
- Jim presented with honorary doctorate for all his work in Peru by executive director of CIHCE, Dr. Jorge Moran.
- Prison visit in Huacho where dozens gave their hearts to the Lord as a young team member shared the gospel for first time in a prison. The ladies also shared and prayed with the women prisoners and saw several set free in their souls.
- Visited Wilma’s kids in one of the schools, gave out toys and candy, loved them and prayed with them. Also visited the new orphanage to see its progress.
- Rejoiced in salvation of many hundreds that came forward to make decision for Christ in the 4 crusades, 6 churches, conferences and many street opportunities.
- The big bus where we spent so many hours together, sharing stories & testimonies, (some having first experience leading someone to the Lord) praying, singing, worshipping, laughing, making memories.
After we returned home we continued to hear more testimonies. Our travel agent’s brother, Luis, gave his heart to the Lord on the bus, received prayer for healing and was told by doctor at his next visit that he no longer had diabetes!
John, our coordinator pastor in Peru shared another awesome testimony. We held a one-night crusade outdoors in Sayan, a (seemingly) peaceful little town where our bus had police escort on the lonely road when leaving that night. Well 10 days before that there had been killings on that road from an organization wanting to take over the sugar cane fields and rumors of more death to come. After we prayed for peace over the city, John told us that 4 days later the principal directors of those wanting to take over sugar cane fields had signed a Document of Peace to resolve the situation. The pastors reported that God had not only brought His presence to Sayan, but also had brought peace!!

Australia Report - Sept-Oct 2009
What a wonderful 5 weeks we had traveling all over Australia doing 34 meetings in 30 days in 7 different cities from coast to coast. We found people hungry for more of God and really receptive to the message that God is releasing the supernatural for His people to move into their destinies. Catherine Mullins, an anointed singer from Atlanta area led worship for us the first 3 weeks and helped usher us into God’s presence each night. We really enjoyed our time together. Dave Collet, from Brisbane who did a wonderful job coordinating all the meetings joined us for most of the trip and was an added blessing.
After flying into Sydney we had an all day conference where Jim taught on the seven mountains. Kathy and Dave both shared in the areas of family and education along with their testimonies. The church ‘Seven Hills’ was a unique combination of Catholics, Charismatics, and other Protestants and the people very humble and loving. We felt the Lord’s pleasure at the level of unity amongst them.
We flew to Coffs Harbor, where Jim spoke at “Godly Strategies in Government” breakfast attended by 15 leaders including a lady running for representative who was passionate for government. He could see the excitement on their faces as new faith and encouragement rose up in their hearts. Jim prayed over a woman whose business looked like it was going under. The next day she came to meeting bubbling with joy as she said God did a financial miracle in her business! She received an immediate breakthrough and was healed in her body, too! We were blessed to stay in beautiful apartment overlooking the ocean where we walked past the harbor each day with incredible views.
We drove up the coast to Ballina a beautiful beach town with green rolling hills. We met some precious people from Seacoast Church where we ministered for 2 days and felt like family. Michelle took us around to her favorite beachside restaurant and most beautiful ocean views overlooking the cliffs. We felt blessed to enjoy God’s creation and see these magnificent views including dolphins jumping in the ocean and even some whales!
After driving north to Brisbane, Jim spoke at a rotary club meeting, which was a new experience, as he couldn’t use ‘christianese’! He struggled at first in this new arena, but he did so well he got invited to speak at the next Lion’s Club meeting from there.
At an international church meeting in Brisbane with people from 12 different nations, Jim had word of knowledge for woman who was deaf. A lady came forward who said she had no eardrum…it was removed because of cancer. After prayer she was weeping because she could now hear! Others were touched and healed including a young man with torn rotator cuff who began moving his arm freely with no pain.
One of our favorite spots was Perth, the “most isolated city” in the world, a 5-hour flight over the Australian barren desert from Brisbane. As we entered the city we felt there was an open heaven over it.
At their Friday night revival service, called The Well, we had the closest thing to revival with those who came from different churches (about 320 people) worshiping passionately, getting filled up, healed, saved...it was awesome! When Jim shared on the 7 mountains at a breakfast in their café (60 people) they got it (many moved to tears), and were greatly encouraged cause they were already doing it! We got encouraged to see all the areas where they're already moving into their communities to make a difference!
The pastors over the church "Without Walls", Phil and Jeannette, very apostolic, humble, and have the vision to release others into their destinies. They operate the Overflow Café in downtown area where there’s lots of night life, rent it out for events, breakfasts for businessmen, etc. and provide a place for the young women coming out of the girls' homes to work.
On Sunday we were invited to speak at the Esther House church where the girls from their 7 homes for young women in crisis come together on Sunday nights to worship and share their testimonies. We were privileged to be a part of filming the Premier of Western Australia as he interviewed several young women from the Esther House. Their powerful testimonies told the story of the success of these young women who are coming through these homes. The director, Patricia, who pours her life out for these girls, has won many awards for her work including 2008 Australian of the Year.
We also had the privilege of meeting Margaret Court, tennis champion at Wimbledon, French, US, and Australian Open. She is now pastor of large church in Perth and graciously invited us to her office where she blessed us with her stories and we prayed for each other.
We flew 2 1/2 hours to Adelaide, in southern Australia, and felt a joining with pastors Todd and Adam of the ‘Field of Dreams’ church. There were hungry people, desperate for a new move of the Spirit, and enjoying an outbreak of fresh manifestations of His presence. The first night, Jim had a prophetic word for the mayor of Tea Tree Gully, about the amazing calling on her life. Kathy had lunch with the mayor as she shared how the Lord had led her to get involved in politics and given her favor in the midst of great opposition.
When Jim began sharing on the seven mountains there was an excitement that arose and the people began clapping, jumping to their feet with excitement. It was like the level of anointing for this word was increasing, as Jim ministered to their spirits and they were catching it! How exciting! Sunday night nearing the end of 5-hour service God began breaking out in miracles. A man with injured shoulder unable to move it for 3 years, got set free, did 30 push-ups on the spot, and couldn’t stop magnifying the Lord, who had just healed and touched him. It was precious! Others were healed of deafness, long term pain, skin disease, joint pain, etc. The presence of God was so thick nobody wanted to leave even after 5 hours!
We feel like this is Australia’s time to arise and shine as there is an awakening and people are moving out of their complacency into new destinies. Many have been called to the nations and are heeding that call as they’re empowered to go out and “disciple nations”.
Just before heading home we flew to Melbourne and spent two days with Jim’s sister, Nancy, and family who we hadn’t seen in years. It was a good time to catch up, reconnect, and an enjoyable visit.
Thank you for your prayers and support. Please keep us in your prayers as we head to Peru Nov. 4th for almost 2 weeks with a team of 22 people.
Love & blessings,
Kathy & Jim
